Environmental Impact Statements

Notice is hereby given by An Bord Pleanála (the Board) under article 112 (as amended) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 that an environmental impact statement (EIS) has been received by the Board in accordance with section 128 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 in respect of the appeallistedin the First Schedule below.

Notice is also given underarticle 112 of the above Regulations that an EIS has been received by the Board in accordance with article 109 of the Regulations in respect of the appeal in the Second Schedule below.

The EIS or the additional information, as appropriate, in each appeal is availablefor inspection and purchase during office hours at the offices of the relevant local planning authority and the Board.

Submissions or observations may be made to the Board in relation to the appeallisted in the Schedule and should be received by the Board not later than four weeks beginning on the date of publication of this notice, i.e. by 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday the 31st March, 2009. Submissions or observations must be accompanied by a fee of €50 except in the case of certain bodies specified by the Board.

First Schedule

Location: (On a site of 5.5 Ha) Galway Shopping Centre, Townparks, Headford Road, Galway.

Development: Demolition of existing shopping centre and associated structures and construction of mixed use urban development in 4no. separate blocks incorporating retail and commercial uses, residential units (228no. apartments) restaurant, leisure and Municipal Art Gallery arranged around a new public street and all ancillary site development works.

Planning Authority: Galway City Council, City Hall, College Road, Galway.

Second Schedule

Location: Boherlody, Lisgarriff West & Knockmeale, Dolla, Nenagh, County Tipperary.

Development: Permission for two Wind Turbines with increased hub height of up to 80m and blade length up to 45m (Previous Permission granted – Planning Ref. 03/51/0743), including link road and associated sub station. Also, to upgrade existing farm roadway (Previous Permission granted – Planning Ref. 06/51/1276) as access roadway/entrance and all associated site works.
