Planning Authority Case Reference: 17/8037/REG
The Atrium Building, Block A, Blackthorn Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18.
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council
Description
1. The top storey height of the buidling is less than 20 metres and therefore firefighting shafts are not required to comply with current standards. However, as part of the original FSC applciation for the building, firefighting shafts were proposed to compensate for inadequate vehicle access provisions. The firefighting shafts were constructed with the necessary 120 minute fire resisting enclosure and provided with dry risers and lobby ventilation, however regular passenger lifts were provided in lieu of firefighting lifts. 2. the building is served by 2 x 1100mm stairs and 4 x 1200mm stairs, and all stairs are provided with protected lobbies. However, the final exits from the 1200mm stairs have since been measured on site as 1100 mm i.e. not as wide as the stair.
