MaryRose McGovern
Board Member
MaryRose McGovern was appointed ordinary Board member on the 24th of October 2024 to the 23rd of October 2029.
She joins An Bord Pleanála from the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO) where she held a number of roles including Director of Investigation and Legal Services, Deputy Ombudsman and Acting Ombudsman.
In addition to her extensive adjudicative experience, over many years of statutory independent decision-making, including chairing formal oral hearings, MaryRose’s public service roles have included organisational governance responsibilities and the design and implementation of strategies for the enhancement of service delivery.
Prior to her work with various Ombudsman schemes, MaryRose was in private practice as a solicitor and partner, with Dockrell Farrell Solicitors, where she specialised in a wide range of civil litigation.
MaryRose takes a special interest in the delivery of public services trí mheán na Gaeilge.
