Paul Caprani
Board Member
Paul Caprani was appointed ordinary Board member on 2nd September 2024 to 1st September 2029.
Paul was working in An Bord Pleanála as Assistant Director of Planning from March 2023. He managed diverse workloads on a daily basis, overseeing the work undertaken by a team of Inspectors in the area of strategic infrastructure delivery, local authority development, pre-application consultation meetings and renewable energy and electricity projects. He was a member of the Management Committee.
Paul occupied the role of Planning Inspector in An Bord Pleanála from 1999 to 2002 and Senior Planning Inspector from 2002 to 2023. In addition to his planning qualifications, Paul also obtained an MSc in Environmental Protection, a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering, a Diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment, and an Advanced Diploma in Environmental and Planning Law. Paul is also a certified Site Suitability Assessor for domestic wastewater treatment systems and a certified Mediator.
