How do I make an observation on a Marine Application?
A submission/observation can be made to An Coimisiún Pleanála in writing and submit it online, by post or deliver it to us in person.
Submit Online: Members of the public can submit observations online through the specific case page for a current application, from which the uploader can be accessed. To locate the relevant case page, please refer to our case search facility here.
Post or In-Person: Send your written submission/observation by post or deliver it in-person to: Marine/Climate Section, An Coimisiún Pleanála, 64 Marlborough Street, Dublin 1.
During the specified period (which shall not be less than 8 weeks), relating to -
(i) the implications of the proposed development for maritime spatial planning, and
(ii) the implications of the proposed development for proper planning and sustainable development, and
(iii) the likely effects on the environment or any European site of the proposed development (if applicable), if carried out.
The time period for the making of a submission/observation by the public will be stated in the public notice.
Any submission/observation must include the following:

the name of the person making the submission or observation, the name of the person acting on his or her behalf, if any, and the address to which any correspondence relating to the application should be sent,

the subject matter of the submission or observation, and
-
The reasons, considerations and arguments on which the submission or observation is based in full. (Article 5 of the Planning and Development Act (Marine Development) Regulations 2023 refers).

A submission/ observation in relation to a marine application must be accompanied by a fee of €50.
