Dublin Airport Passenger Capacity Act 2026

The Dublin Airport (Passenger Capacity) Act, 2026 was commenced on 27 July 2026 (SI 366/2026). This gives statutory functions to An Coimisiún Pleanála (the ‘Commission’) following an application by DAA to the Minister for Transport in respect of the passenger cap at Dublin airport.

The Commission’s role is to provide an environmental assessment of any such application under the Environmental Impact Assessment Directive, the Habitats Directive and the Water Framework Directive.

No application has yet been made to the Commission. The Commission will shortly publish further information regarding its processes under this Act and how the public can participate in the environmental assessment process.
